Motorcycle Training Classes: FAQs

How much do classes cost?

2-Day Basic Rider Course is offered on weekdays or weekends - Pick your class date 


  • $275  (2-day motorcycle class including use of our helmets and motorcycles) 
  • Your fee includes an online eCourse, classroom sessions, and riding sessions. 
  • Minimum Age: 15 ( (under 18 with parental consent and Class C driver's permit or classroom portion of Drivers Education completed). 
  • Be aware that the motorcycle course is strenuous and physically demanding. Please consider your abilities as well as weather conditions before registering.  
  • You should not take the course if you have a medical condition that impairs motor skills. 
  • In order to receive your course completion certificate, you will be required to pass a written and on-cycle test. Each test is administered once. (At the discretion of the instructor, you may be allowed to test a second time, based on skills you demonstrateed throughout the class.)


         Required for class: 

  • The ability to balance well enough to ride a regular bicycle 
  • Printed eCourse completion page.
  • Driver's license or learner's permit. 
  • Photo ID.
  • Long sleeve shirt or jacket.
  • Full fingered gloves.
  • Sturdy boots or shoes that cover the ankle.
  • Shatter resistant glasses.
  • Helmet with DOT sticker.

1-Day RiderCourse2  (License Waiver) - Pick your class date 


  • You must be currently riding with 2 years experience 
  • $250  (weekends or weekdays)  
  • We recommend you take this motorcycle class on your own bike, but you may use one of ours
  • In order to receive your course completion certificate, you will be required to pass a written and on-cycle test. Each test is administered once. (At the instructor's discretion, you may be allowed to test a second time, based on skills you demonstrated during the course.)   


         Required for class: 

  • Proof of insurance for your motorcycle (if you bring your own)
  • Printed eCourse completion page.
  • Photo ID.
  • Valid Driver's license
  • Long sleeve shirt or jacket.
  • Full fingered gloves.
  • Sturdy boots or shoes that cover the ankle.
  • Shatter resistant glasses.
  • Helmet with DOT sticker.

Motorcycle courses prepare you for safety on the road! 

Why do I need to take this class?

In the state of Texas, a motorcycle safety course is required in order to secure your motorcycle license. Once you complete the course, you'll take your certificate to your local DPS office to get your motorcycle endorsement.  


Our awesome & patient coaches will teach you the basics of riding from the ground up, with safety tips and techniques for real-world riding.

What if I'm an experienced rider, which class is right for me?

If you are currently riding and have at least 2 years of experience, our 1-day RiderCourse2 (license waver) class is for you. You may have been riding for years and simply need your license.  This class will reinforce skills and refresh those you may have forgotten. 

Is this course certified by the State of Texas?

This school is a state-certified by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, and teaches the curriculum provided by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. All rider coaches are certified and experienced. 

What happens after I register for a class?

Your registration covers 3 segments of instruction: Online course |  In-Person Classroom   |  In-person riding instruction  


After you have registered for class:  

  1. Your registration documents will provide a code for an online portion of instruction that must be completed prior to your in-person class. 
  2. Bring the certificate of completion for your online course to your in-person class. 
  3. Be sure the bring the riding gear outlined in your registration materials (full-fingered gloves, long pants with no holes, over-the-ankle footwear, sunglasses or shatterproof eyewear, and long sleeve shirt). 
  4. During your 2-day in-person class, you'll receive both classroom and riding instruction. (For 1-day classes, you'll receive classroom and riding instruction on the same day.)
  5. In order to receive final certificate, students must pass both a written and riding test. These tests are only administered once. (If you do not pass, at the discretion of your instructor, you may be allowed to test a second time based on the skills you demonstrated during the class.)

By registering for a class, you agree to the policies of Awesome Riding.

  

CANCELLATIONS & RESCHEDULING OF MOTORCYCLE TRAINING CLASSES

I understand and agree that NO REFUNDS are given once my registration is submitted. I understand and agree that in the event I need to reschedule into a different class, I must do so at least 72 hours prior to the start time of the original class. Failure to do so will result in loss of entire tuition with no exceptions. If I do not appear at the appropriate time and place for my class, I understand that no refund will be given. I agree that the refund and cancellation policy is the sole discretion on Awesome Riding. 


ATTENDANCE POLICIES
I understand and agree that I cannot be tardy to the class start time on any day of class and that I must attend and participate in ALL portions of the course. I understand that this is for my safety and adheres to the policies of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation curriculum. Tardiness or failure to attend all sessions of the course will result in loss of the entire course fee. No refunds or rescheduling will be granted. 


WEATHER

I understand and agree that inclement weather may delay or extend class time and schedule will be adjusted at the discretion of the RiderCoach to ensure a safe learning environment. 


RIDING GEAR 

I understand and agree that I MUST provide my own riding gear (over-the-ankle footwear, long sleeve shirt or jacket, long pants, protective eyewear and gloves). I understand that Awesome Riding will provide a helmet and motorcycle for the class duration. If I fail to provide my own riding gear that meets the guidelines, I will not be permitted to participate in the course and will be subject to forfeiture of my course fee. 


MOTORCYCLES 

I understand that if I register for the BRC2 LW class, I may bring my own motorcycle for training and that the bike must be insured. I agree to provide proof of insurance.


COURSE NON-COMPLETION

I understand and agree that there is a possibility I may be counseled out of the class by my RiderCoach because I have not been able to achieve the objectives of the range (riding) exercises for one of more of the following reasons: (1) I have exceeded the allotted learning time and have not demonstrated the needed skills to continue. (2) I have failed to abide by course safety and guidelines provided by my RiderCoach. If these situations occur, I understand that I forfeit the entire course fee. 


NON-TRANSFERABLE REGISTRATION

I understand and agree that my registration is NON-TRANSFERABLE. 


RELEASE AND WAIVER OF INDEMNIFICATION 

I, as the undersigned participant (and my parent or legal guardian, if under the age of 18 years old) do hereby execute this release, waiver and indemnification for myself and my heirs, successors, representatives and assigns; and hereby agree and represent as follows: To release Awesome Riding. and their landlord (West Oaks Mall), landowners, members, employees, agents, representatives and those governmental agencies and other organizations affiliated with this course including but not limited to the Motorcycle Safety Foundation, and hold them harmless for any liability, loss, damage, cost, claim, judgment or settlement which may be brought or entered against them as a result of my participation in said course. I and (and my parent and/or legal guardian if under 18 years old) understand that there are risks involved in the learning of proper skills necessary to operate a motorcycle and I do accept those risks. I agree that I (and parent or legal guardian, if under the age of 18 years old) will be signing additional waivers at the start of class:  ("Student Information Form," "Waiver and Release of Liability," and "Consent for Medical Treatment of a Minor". if student is under 18 years). 


I HAVE CAREFULLY READ THIS RELEASE AND UNDERSTAND ITS CONTENTS AND I VOLUNTARILY AGREE TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS STATED AS MY OWN FREE ACT.
